Designing the kitchen of his dreams, Custom Cabinet Solutions owner Daniel has created a modern space that utilises one of today’s biggest design trends — matte.
Simple, without being boring, this kitchen uses subtle features to make a big impact. With surprises built into every nook, a quick tour around the space will see you finding more and more to look at — such as an integrated wine rack and recessed storage space.
Taking advantage of the kitchen’s layout, Custom Cabinet Solutions have created a ‘secondary’ space that houses the dishwasher, fridge, sink and storage. Comparable to an open butlers pantry, it allows divide between chaos and cleanliness — without compromising space.
Hard to ignore is the commanding matte cabinetry — with its clean lines and lack of hardware. This cabinetry, that is not only a design dream but fingerprint free, is made possible by WilsonArt’s Traceless technology.
Tracless in Ebony has opened doors for people who want the matte look — without the drawbacks of previously popular products. A collaborative effort between Custom Cabinet Solutions and South Australian based surfaces company SteedForm allows the door fronts and drawers to come to life.
SteedForm cut and edged the doors and panels, and also created a finger grip detail for the drawers, that not only looks great but optimises functionality. Contrasted with more Traceless cabinets in Snow White, this monochrome kitchen’s design is sure to stand the test of time.
SteedForm also manufactured and installed Maximum benchtops and a Maximum splashback to continue the theme. The kitchen’s designer, Daniel from Custom Cabinet Solutions, went one further with a bold and innovative inclusion on the island bench. Taking a slab of Maximum in Marmi Taxos, Daniel instructed SteedForm to edge the top in that same WilsonArt Traceless in Ebony, to create the illusion of a top that is only 6mm thin.
