All About: MAXIMUM Tables for Bird in Hand Winery
When acclaimed South Australian interior designers collide with one of the states best wineries — magic happens.
Enoki Design have knocked the aesthetics of the world famous Bird in Hand Winery out of the park — from concrete sinks and wood paneling, to a bright pink neon sign reading ‘tough titties’ — it’s a must visit destination.
SteedForm were contacted by Enoki to join in the fun, and were lucky enough to manufacture table tops for the outdoor area.
They are very lucky tables in deed, sitting pretty in a lush courtyard overlooking endless rows of vines.
The tables are made out of MAXIMUM porcelain pressed panels.
MAXIMUM prides itself on “offer[ing] limitless design possibilities for interior and exterior commercial, retail and residential projects, from small space renovations through to multi-story ventilated facades.”

Material: MAXIMUM
MAXIMUM is a large format porcelain tile.
Dimensions: 1.5 metres wide, 3 metres long and 6mm thin.
With 40 different colours and finishes (emulating anything from a statuario to cement) Maximum aims to deliver impeccable finishes whilst being “lightweight, durable, UV stable, environmentally friendly and cost effective, providing limitless design possibilities.”

Size: The MAXIMUM slab that makes up the table top is 2.2 meters by 1 meters.
Pros
Some of MAXIMUMs most impressive pros include —
It’s strength and durability: being scratch, heat and thermally resistant.
It’s low maintenance: great for busy people — it’s easy to clean and both stain and mould resistant.
100% natural & sustainable: made from all natural materials — including sand, quartz, clay, feldspar, recycled content, it also has no toxic resins or chemical binders.
Cost effective: whilst it’s not a cheap choice, it is a more affordable option to a lot of composite and quarried materials.
Cons
Each individual’s journey with a surface will be different, but a few challenges that arise from a manufacturing perspective are —
Mitered edges: because MAXIMUM is a printed product, the design won’t have the ability to continue onto some edges.
Bench tops: Because MAXIMUM is only 6mm thick, if you want to use it as a bench top you won’t be able to without a substrate.
Installation
How did these tables get from a slab in the factory — to a surface for holding some of the states best food and wine ?
Firstly, the black powder coated frame was supplied by Enoki.
The MAXIMUM slab was then dropped into the frame and glued in place with black silicon.
Price Range
The slabs of MAXIMUM in Aster Mercury Semi Matt that were used to create this table start at $1500.
Each slab will vary in price depending on size, details and finish.
This price does not include the powder coated frame — which was supplied by Enoki Design.
